Pinterest vs Pinspire

The other day, as I was pinning away on Pinterest, I noticed a comment asking permission to post to Pinspire. Wondering what Pinspire was, I googled...

What the what...?!? It appears Pinspire is an exact clone of Pinterest!
See for yourself:
 _________________________________________________________

Though the difference are few and far between, I did manage to find a couple:
  • Pinterest is still an INVITE-ONLY site, where Pinspire is not. Anyone can sign-up! And currently there is a waiting list to join the Pinterest community. Will they lose potential pinsters to Pinspire because of this?
  • On Pinterest we have BOARDS, on Pinspire these are called COLLECTIONS
  • If you're used to Pinterest you may find some of the links in different places. For example, I went on Pinspire's detailed page of a pin... went to click the source and accidentally REPORTED it. Whoops! I was used to the source being in the top-right corner from Pinterest. Definitely click with caution on this new site.
  • Pinspire is catered to international users. The creators of Pinspire look for the hottest U.S. sites that have yet to go global. From what I've read, they develop a copycat to get a large international following in hopes to sell to the original creators. It has worked for them in the past! How do you feel about this?
If you're on the waiting list to join Pinterest, will you patiently wait for your invitation? It could take months! Or will you choose the immediate satisfaction of its rip-off, Pinspire? Time to choose!

CYO Countdown to Kisses

Every year my gram gets me one of those chocolate advent calendars from the $1 store to countdown to Christmas. Is it just me or are those chocolates the best ever? They may just be the cheapest chocolates ever made, but it doesn't matter. They're delicious! I know you all know which calendars I'm referring to. Did you have one of these as a kid?

I think a big reason why I love the taste of these chocolates is because I only get them once a year... counting down to my absolute favorite time of year. Anticipation to special occasions makes it all more exciting. Especially for the kiddos! Since Valentine's Day is in a couple of weeks, why not create a countdown to this special day? After all, why should Christmas be the only holiday that gets a calendar?

I absolutely love this Countdown to Kisses Calendar!
Here is a TUTORIAL on how to create your own

Twenty12... Year of Home Makeover

This year, I really want to get our home to a place where it feels like HOME. Right now there's still wallpaper up in several rooms from the previous owners, furniture is mismatched, windows are bare, bathrooms are outdated, and nothing is going together... except for the nursery which, of course, we took the time to decorate as soon as we moved in... Our daughter's already a princess. Yikes!

Anyways... I'm happy to announce that all wallpaper will be removed next week. Wahooo! And we're off....

New House, New Job, New Baby, New Year...
Time to Get ORGANIZED!

My husband and I moved into our new house in May... and then our daughter was born in July. [Yes, we cut it kind of close... I don't recommend house hunting while you're pregnant btw]. I went back to work in October, made it through the holidays while going to school at night, and now it's a new year.. a new start! I'm finally starting to feel like we're not going through life in complete chaos... I'm one of those people who loves being organized, but loathes the process of organizing. I'm learning to accomplish small tasks each day, though. Thank you FLY LADY... I just love her!
"Your home did not get dirty in one day, and it will not get clean in a day either." - FL - Check her out: http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/
Each week, you are assigned a "zone".. this is the area you declutter, clean, and organize for 15 minutes each day. Not so bad... This week is bathroom and one other room. Set your timers!

FLY LADY'S 11 COMMANDMENTS:
  1. Keep your sink clean and shiny.
  2. Get dressed every morning, even if you don’t feel like it. Don’t forget your lace-up shoes.
  3. Do your morning and before-bedtime routine everyday.
  4. Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked by the computer or television (my add-on).
  5. Pick up after yourself. If you get it out, put it away.
  6. Don’t try to do two projects at once. ONE JOB AT A TIME.
  7. Don’t pull out more than you can put back in one hour.
  8. Do something for yourself everyday, maybe every morning and night.
  9. Work as fast as you can to get the job done. This will give you more time to play later.
  10. Smile even when you don’t feel like it. It is contagious. Make your mind up to be happy, and you will be.
  11. Don’t forget to laugh everyday. Pamper yourself; you deserve it!
